PA Wellington The champion New Zealand three-year-old Race Ruler, which will race under the name, The Race Ruler, in Australia, has drawn barrier seven in Saturday night’s Australian Derby at Moonee Valley. The race, for three-year-old pacers, carries a stake of sAust7s,ooo and will be run at 10.45 p.m. (N.Z. time). His main opponent, the Dick Lee-trained Rufus Young Blood, which has won his last four races on end, drew barrier three. However both Rufus Young Blood and The Race Ruler are likely to start from barriers two and six respectively as the former New Zealand pacer, My Surdon, which drew barrier two, has been made the second emergency.
