Ice award presented
Fiona Atkinson was the recipient of .the "Administrator of the Year” award made by the Ice Racing Federation of New Zealand at the annual meeting. Officers elected for the 1987 season were:—-
Patron, Mr H. A. Allchurch (Christchurch); president, Mrs P. B. Gray (Christchurch); vice-president, Mr K. W. C. Nicolle (Christchurch); secretary, Ms F. Atkinson (Christchurch); assistant secretary, Miss J. Degen (Christchurch); treasurer, Mr P. D. Silcock (Christchurch); council, Messrs M. Atkinson, R. Clark (Christchurch) and J. Den Exter (Auckland). Confirmed dates and venues for the championship season:— May 31: Canterbury Him track, Christchurch; June 27 or when ice available: New Zealand 200 m and 400 m outdoor. Lake Ida; September 24, 25 and 26: New Zealand 111 m track and Tasman Trophy between Australia and New Zealand, Christchurch.
