Stablemates turn on speed

The stablemates, Tommo’s Tornado and Dalby, turned on the speed in training at Hastings yesterday, cutting out a sharp 800 m on the plough. Fast work was held on the plough (easy) and the No. 1 grass (firm).
Tommo’s Tornado and Dalby sprinted 800 m in 49.4 s with the last 600 m in 36.65. There was little between them at the finish. Tommo’s Tornado has not raced sincft New Year’s Day but hwdone a lot of solid worlr in the
last two weeks to fit him for the open sprint at Waipukurau on Friday. Reception worked with Uncle Seymour over 600 m in 37.65. Reception is to have a run at the Feilding trials on Thursday as a lead up to the $65,000 Wakefield Stakes (1200 m at Trentham next Saturday week. Dollar Kingdom and Brazen Fellow worked at three-quarter pace from the 1000 m then increased the speed to run their last 600 m in 40.25. Brazen Fellow is entered for the highweight at Waipukurau on Friday.
