P.O. function to mark division
Post Office employees in Christchurch will mark the department’s division into three corporations with a social function. The event will be held on March 31, the eve of the department’s corporatisation, at the Christchurch Town Hall. More than 20 social oganisations have banded together for the function and former Post Office workers will be welcome.
An organiser, Mr Alan Airay, said ticket sales were expected to be heavy with more than 4000 present staff as well as retired employees.
He said interest in the function had been aroused -from as far away as Timaru. Former staff members wanting more details could write to the organisers, P.O. Box 627, Christchurch.
