Four fastest times to Sumner in championships

Sumner Running Club women took the four fastest times in the Canterbury Road Running Committee’s 20km graded championships from Mathers Road to Tai Tapu last Wednesday. The fastest of the four was Marie Stokes, a leading Canterbury veteran, who recorded Ihr 19min ss. A surprise second fastest was Helen Grant, who only three days before had finished second in the women’s section of the Buller Gorge marathon in just under three hours. .
