Junior golf win to Brownlee
The promising Waitikiri junior, Matthew Brownlee, carded a par round of 70 to win the Canterbury Junior Golf Society’s tournament at Avondale yesterday. Brownlee turned in 33, twounder par, and was fourunder par after successive birdies on the eighth, ninth, tenth and 11th holes. How-
ever, he dropped four strokes on the hard finishing holes.
Hugh McLeod, Ken Collett and Bruce Cosgriff all had rounds of 74 to finish equal second, one shot better than Patrick Fraher and Jason Sincock. G. Eyre and K. Johnson had the best nets of 66.
