Live sheep exports

Sir,—lt would appear that many of your readers place more importance on the welfare of live exported sheep than keeping sheep farmers in business., They should not tell us to stop exporting live sheep; tell the local market to pay more, thus making the practice unnecessary. Perhaps some correspondents would care to apply for the job of manager on our farm. One condition, of course, would be that the successful applicant would have to maintain a breakeven situation before receiving any salary. I would then be free to take up a less demanding job, with plenty of time to write to the paper on subjects I know little about. — Yours, etc., STRUAN D. CHRISTIE. Mayfield, February 17, 1987.
