Students may stay
PA Wellington Almost 1000 foreign students have decided to stay in New Zealand under new immigration policies and not return home, said the Minister of Immigration, Mr Burke. “Their New Zealand education now contributes to our well-being,” he said. Until recently, private overseas students were unable to get permanent residence on occupational grounds, even though they might have been appropriately qualified with sought-after skills.
