N.Z. Angora goats sell well in U.K.

PA Wellington An auction of New Zealand Angora goats in England has delighted the organiser, the Rotoruabased Australasian Livestock Brokers, Ltd. The auction at the Stonleigh National Agriculture Centre drew a crowd of 400, with 120 people registered as buyers for the sale of stock on behalf of Mr Mort Webber, of .Hawke’s Bay. The January 31 auction sold 49 Angora buck kids at an average of $6OOO, the range of prices being $21,000 to $3lOO. A.L.B.’s managing director, Mr lan Pirani, said he was delighted with the results considering .that the sale was held during a severe winter and only ' kids were offered.. The market had potential to return tens of millions of dollars for New Zealand, he said.
