Woolston woman assaulted
The Christchurch C. 1.8. is investigating a sexual assault on a woman in her Woolston home early yesterday morning. Detective Sergeant John Ell said that the woman, a solo mother, aged about 30, “vaguely knew” the assailant, who asked to be let in to wait for another person. He was allowed into the house, and the attack then took place, in spite of the woman’s resistance, said Sergeant Ell. She suffered minor injuries in the attack. The woman was able to escape, and went to a neighbour’s house to call for help.
