Choristers for Dunedin

PA Dunedin A young Christchurch choirboy who can sing top C will be one of 80 choristers who will sing at St Paul’s Cathedral, Dunedin, at Labour Day week-end. Nicholas Mander, aged 12, will sing the “Pie Jesu” from “Requiem” by Andrew Lloyd Webber, one of the highlights of the ninth Southern Cathedrals’ Choir Festival, this year being held in Dunedin from October 24' to 27. Earlier this year, Nicholas sang alongside the international soloists, Sarah Brightman and lain Paton, in the Australian and New Zealand premiere of “Requiem,” at the International Festival of the Arts in-Wellington. More than 80 choristers from St Paul’s and from Christchurch Cathedral will take part in the festival, which is held on alternate years in Christchurch and Dunedin.
