Penalties taken well
Paul Swettenham, of Shamrock, and Gavin Quinney, from Christchurch United, won “The Press” soccer penalty taking competition at Queen Elizabeth II Park yesterday. The competition, organised by the Canterbury Junior Football Association, is run in two sections. Swettenham
won the under-11 grade, from Chris Goldsborough, of Rangers. The other finalist, Andrew Merlo, of Western, was unable to take part Quinney won the 12-15 years event, from Adrian Carr, of Rangiora. Justin Hartley, also from Rangiora, was the third finalist, but was also unable to compete.
