Players’ gear stolen
PA Auckland Clothing belonging to members of the French universities’ rugby league team was stolen at the week-end, says an official of the school where the squad is based.
A dormitory was broken into through a fire escape door while the players were at Carlaw Park on Saturday, said the school’s executive officer, Mr Roy
Savory. Track suits, wetweather gear, and some items of uniform were taken.
Teams from France, Britain, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and New Zealand are staying at the school during the world universities tournament.
The police are investigating the theft.
