Soccer tour mooted
NZPA-AAP Suva An Indian national soccer team will soon tour Fiji and possibly Australia and New Zealand, the secretary of the Fiji Football Association Mr Jitendra Maharaj, said yesterday.
Mr Maharaj said the Indian Soccer Federation had belatedly replied to an invitation extended by the F.F.A. last year, inquiring about financial arrangements and team strengths. He said he expected a tour would take place late
this year or some time in 1987.
Once arrangements for the Fiji tour had been finalised, Mr Maharaj added, he would suggest that the Indian side also play in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore while in the Pacific area.
