Sydney slides
Margaret Dawson, a Christchurch photographer and artist, will present slides of several overseas artists’ works at the Robert McDougall Art Gallery. The works were exhibited recently at the sixth Sydney Biennale. This year the title was Origins, Originality and Beyond and was aimed at showing how the theme of appropriation or art quotes is
being used by young contemporary artists. On Sunday at 3 p.m. Margaret Dawson will show slides and talk about the works. The session is not intended as a formal lecture but an opportunity to see some of the Sydney work. Works by more than 100 artists from more than 20 countries were exhibited in Sydney.
