Slip Anchor retired
NZPA-AP London Slip Anchor, the winner of the 1985 Epsom Derby, will not race again and has been retired to stud, according to his trainer, Henry Cecil. “Slip Anchor has not recaptured his brilliance of last year. I will now be unable to have him reidy for his objective, the King
George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes,” said Cecil. “ft is with regret that I have advised Lord Howard de Walden to retire him to stud.” Slip Anchor led throughout his Derby victory to finish seven lengths clear of his nearest rival.
