Senior Fireman Steve Cain (left) and Fireman Dave Riddell inspect damage after fire raced through the kitchen of a Hereford Street flat last evening. A man in a neighbouring flat was taken to Christchurch Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. His injuries are thought to be minor. The fire was confined to the kitchen of one of the units in the two storey house, and broke out just after 6 p.m.
