Pioneer keeps lead in volleyball

Skellerup Pioneer retained its lead in the men’s championship of the southern zone volleyball league with a hardfought win over the Dunedin team, Flint, at the week-end.

Scorpions, of Dunedin, moved into second place by beating Shirley A. Skellerup Pioneer also leads the women’s section. It had an away win over its closest rival, Otago University. In a local match, Shirley came from behind to

beat Aranui Smash, 3-2.
