Guardian bids
The Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance of New Zealand, Ltd, is standing in the market for further shares in the National Insurance Company of New Zealand, Ltd. Wellington brokers, Francis Allison Symes and Company, said they are seeking IM National Insurance shares at 400 c a share, on behalf of Guardian. Guardian recently declared an unspecified stake in National Insurance, despite the latter’s advanced plans to merge with City Realties, Ltd, to form the new National Pacific Corporation.
