Thanks to police
Sir,—l should like to pay a tribute to the Christchurch police. While on holiday here, I became the recipient of some bad news which had to be passed on to some friends on holiday in Rotorua. One of those friends, from had had a bereavement in Aus-' tralia and needed to be contacted
urgently. With the barest information as to their whereabouts, I asked for the help of the police in contacting them. In less than 90 minutes I was in touch with these folk and they were able to rearrange their holiday. The police were absolutely outstanding, both in terms of the officers who handled my urgent query and the organisation they have for dealing with these matters. They have my highest respect for sensitivity, understanding and efficiency. — Yours, etc., P. ALAN JACKSON. January 12, 1986.
