Mosse just beaten
NZPA-AAP Brisbane The New Zealand Olympic swimmer, Anthony Mosse, narrowly lost to the Australian Olympic gold medallist, Jon Sieben in the Queensland swimming championships 100 m butterfly on Monday evening. Sieben scraped home by o.ools, in 55.615, from Mosse. Mosse, happy with his time after the flight from the United States, and only one full day’s rest, said his 100 m performance was im-
proving “every day." Mosse and Sieben both predicted that a time under 54s would win the Commonwealth Games 100 m butterfly in Edinburgh. Sieben admitted he had not been training hard and was nowhere near as fit as he was for the Olympics. “But I feel I’m better bodywise — bigger and stronger — than for L.A., and I’ve gained confidence and international experience,” he said.
