French ‘cheat taxman’

NZPA-AFP Paris Most French people believe in God, but this does not stop many cheating the taxman, according to a series of polls in a book just published in Paris. The book, “Passions and Taboos,” by Andre Laurens, said that 66 per cent of French people believed in God and 47 per cent in life after death. French sex life was closely examined in the book.

Sixty-four per cent of married Frenchmen and women in the 25 to 44 age group admitted sleeping with another partner. Sixty-one per cent of businessmen admitted tax evasions, and 35 per cent of Frenchmen said that at some time they had wanted to commit murder.
