Lull for life-savers
After a busy nnew year period, surf life-savers at Christchurch beaches have had a few quiet days in the cooler weather. They had no calls on Monday and Tuesday, but yesterday helped ashore two girls, aged 14 and nine, who
had got caught in the channel at Sumner as the tide was changing. Beach crowds have been small during the last three days, but numbers picked up yesterday afternoon when the weather improved again.
