House burgled, burnt
A house in Durham Street was believed to have been burgled before it was set on fire early yesterday morning, the Christchurch police said yesterday. A neighbour called the Fire Service about 3.20 a.m. after seeing smoke coming fr#m a bedroom ol the
house, which is near Bealey Avenue. Damage was minor. The house, which was not occupied, is leased to the University of Canterbury for student accommodation, and contained only basic furniture. * J;
