Road toll
PA Wellington The Ministry of Transport is baffled by the high weekend road toll, said the its assistant chief traffic superintendent, Mr Henry Gore, yesterday. The total of 11, which included a woman who was hit by an Army armouredpersonnel carrier, was well above this year’s week-end average of seven. Mr Gore said he had no idea why there were so many as the weather throughout New Zealand was good.
