Schools drama
“Inherit the Wind,” a court room drama, will be staged this evening as part of the St Andrew’s College and Rangi Ruru Girls' School festival of performing arts. The drama, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, will be presented in the St Andrew’s theatrette for a three night season. The play'
is one of the longest running on Broadway. The production is directed by Rozena Hallum. The schools’ festival began last week-end with a celebration of music, a concert of choral and instrumental items, produced by Michael Lawrence, Glenys Drummond and Paul Ellis. On August 14, 15 and 16, Leonard Bernstein’s “West
Side Story” will be presented in Wilson Hall, at Rangi Ruru School. The show will be directed by Judy Gabara. The final presentation in the festival is “The Trek,” a journey through history created by the pupils and staff of St Andrew’s Preparatory School and staged in the theatrette on August 20, 21 and 22.
