SOUTH ISLAND Our client, a recognised international company providing a range of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment for the building, construction and manufacturing industries, is seeking a Regional Manager for their total South Island operations. The location is in Christchurch and this new position reports direct to the Managing Director in Wellington. Applicants will be aged around 30-40 years and desirably will have a mechanical trade certification to N.Z.C.E. standard or equivalent Evidence of a successful sales background combined with above-average administrative and human relations skills would be essential to be favourably considered for this important position. The ability to provide the necessary leadership and direction to a regional staff of 14 in order to expand the company’s market position will be expected. Responsibilities include the achievement of agreed sales targets within approved budgets, maintaining the company’s image by the highest standards of representation and service, ensuring co-operation with other branches and Head Office, and developing teamwork, morale and enthusiasm amongst the staff. Regular travel to major clients throughout the island Is required to ensure complete familiarity with market conditions and competitive activities. Good public relations as the senior company executive in the region, will be an important aspect of the position. A remuneration package appropriate to the position, including a car, will be negotiated at final interview.
