‘Minister should resign’
The Minister of Health, Dr Bassett, should resign from his portfolio over his handling of the child general medical services benefit, said the member of Parliament for Waitotara, Mr Venn Young, yesterday. Mr Young said that the Government, in appealing against Mr Justice Vautier’s decision, was deliberately trying to prevent a debate on the “inept administration” of Dr Bassett.
