Diver now ‘comfortable’

A Christchurch diver who spent Sunday evening in the recompression chamber at The Princess Margaret Hospital is now in a comfortable condition in a hospital ward. David John Rose, aged 25, was walking for a short time yesterday after making a quick recovery from the bends. Mr Rose became unconscious after surfacing too quickly during a dive at Te Oka Bay, Banks Peninsula, on Sunday afternoon. A helicopter flew him to Christchurch, at low level to avoid making his condition worse.
