Masked men rob post office
PA Auckland Two masked men jumped over the counter of the Ashley Avenue Post Office in Mangere yesterday and robbed the postmistress of several thousand dollars. One had a knife concealed in his sleeve and the postmistress, Mrs Ada Blair, suffered a small cut on her arm when she was pushed against a door. Blair said, “I just saw them out of the corner of my eye as they came in. Then they jumped over the counter. “I ordered them to stop, I did not realise it was a robbery, I just thought they were kids. The robbers then grabbed some money from a drawer, Mrs Blair said. They fled through a back door and into a stolen car. The police were still uncertain last night of the exact amount taken. It was believed to be several thousand dollars.
