Playing for Pleasure
The Pleasure Boys, of Auckland, make their first appearance in Christchurch this week since the band was started about, four years ago. The group are making a nationwide tour, and play at the Gladstone Tavern for three consecutive nights, beginning this evening, supported by Maiden China. .The band also come back through Christchurch, being booked to play at the Gladstone on Sunday, September 2, and the following evening. The Pleasure Boys are also down to play at Timaru’s Old Mill on Friday, August 31, and Satur-
day, September 2. Since being established the Auckland group has gone through a few personnel changes. The original drummer, Ben Staples, and bassist, Mark Dansey, are now with the Miltown Stowaways, Scott Morrow, one of the guitarists, has also left and has been replaced by Peter Allpress, and a second drummer, Fred Soar, has also departed. The four-piece now consists of original member, Chris Harrison (guitar), Allpress, Bernie Griffen (bass), and Shane Boilingford (drums).
