Haden non-committal
PA Auckland The All Black lock, Andy Haden, said last night he would wait until he was picked for the test against France before responding to a demand by the New Zealand Rugby Football Union to wear Adidas boots. “It would be putting the cart before the horse if I were to do otherwise,” said Haden who, along with another All Black, Murray Mexted, of Wellington, prefers to wear boots manu-
factured by another firm. Meanwhile, the All Black prop, Brian McGrattan, has been forced out of today’s big national first division rugby clash between Wellington and Canterbury at Athletic Park. McGrattan, aged 24, injured himself at- work yesterday and had an artery operated on. The burly Wellington man will also miss the game next Saturday between Wellington and France. Paul Baker will replace McGrattan for today’s game.
