Burrowes beat K. Entwistle, 21-19, 8-21, 21-10, 21-13; B. Butler (South Canterbury) beat M. Lockhart 20-22, 23-21, 21-10, 2422; L. White beat S. Lockhart 21-16, 9-21, 21-10, 21-8; K. Brosnahan (South Canterbury) beat J. Baxter 21-14, 21-18, 21-18. Semi-finals: Burrowes beat B. Butler 21-17, 21-16, 23-21; L. White beat Brosnahan 18-21, 21-11, 21-19, 21-12. Final: Burrowes beat White 16-21, 21-11, 20-22, 21-15, 21-11. Men’s doubles:— Quarter-finals: M. and S. Lockhart beat M. W. and M. P. Burrowes 21-17, 21-18; L. White and D. Baxter beat T. Sargent
and J. Armstrong 21-19, 21-16; C. McFarlane and D. Butler (South Canterbury) beat K. and D. Entwistle 23-21, 21-15; C. Tipper and H. Thompson beat W. King and R. Jenkins (Mid Canterbury) 21-18, 21-18. Semifinals: White and Baxter beat M. and S. Lockhart 23-21, 22-20; McFarlane and Butler beat C. Tipper and Thompson 21-11, 21-17. Final: White and Baxter beat McFarlane and Butler 2114, 21-18. Mixed doubles.:— Semi-finals: M. Burrowes and Mrs T. May beat Mrs H. and K. Thompson 21-10, 21-8; M. P. Burrowes and Miss P. 21-19, 21-7; Mrs T. May beat Miss K. Wilson (South Canterbury) 21-13, 21-14, 22-20. Shadbolt beat May 21-19, 21-23, 2113, 21-19 in the final. Women’s doubles:— Final: P. Shadbolt and K. Thompson beat T. May and J. Cochrane (Mid Canterbury) 2110, 21-13. Under-21:— Boys’ singles, semi finals: L. White beat S. Lockhart 13-21, 21-12, 21-17; M. Lockhart beat D. Entwistle 21-8, 21-18.
