PA Wellington The Commissioner of Police, Mr K. 0. Thompson, has decided not to dismiss Constable Mark Sutherland but has advised him that his future at Wanganui is still under consideration. Constable Sutherland and Chief Inspector Bernie Rowe were found guilty in the District Court at Wan-
ganui last Friday of assault. Mr Rowe’s position was more complex and his case was still being considered, Mr Thompson said. “Certain processes have been set into motion and the chief inspector and his counsel have been verbally advised of the position and are at present awaiting documentation from me. When I receive their submissions in response, I will be in a position to make a final decision,” Mr Thompson said.
