N.Z. entry wins contest prize

NZPA correspondent Sydney A Hamilton woman has won one of three world prizes for solving a series of murders in a mystery novel published in the United States, Britain, and Australia and New Zealand. Louise Rogers, who works at the University of Waikato, was the closest of 1000 entrants from both New Zealand and Australia in solving the international mystery. "Who Killed the Robins Family?” She collects sAust2soo ($NZ3475) from the publishers for her efforts. A representative of the Australian publishers, Angus and Robertson, said 30.000

copies of the novel were sold in New Zealand and Australia, while in the United States it hit the best seller list. The United States winner will be announced on the “Good Morning, America” nation-wide television programme, while the winner in Britain will be announced at the same time.

The Sydney publishing representative said 1000 entries, a quarter of them from New Zealand, were received in the Australia and New Zealand section, but that Miss Rogers's answers were outstanding. "Her answers were very full and she really only got one of them partly wrong,” said the representative.
