Faith, hope, and love
E. Oakley (Darfield): How can Professor Geering call himself a Christian, but deny that Christ was God’s son? The apostle Paul said: “God puts them under a delusion, which works upon them to believe the lie,” propagated with "all the deception that sinfulness can impose on those doomed to destruction.” Faith, hope, and love are still the highest virtues. If we are afraid to take that leap of faith our lives miss one dimension. The Bible says: “Adapt yourselves no longer to the pattern of this present world, but let your minds be remade and your whole nature thus transformed.” Those who turn to the Lord “reflect as in a mirror the splendour of the Lord — such is the influence of the Lord who is spirit.” The faces of thousands in Canterbury show the faith, hope, love and peace of an inner spirituality Professor Geering seems reluctant to accept.
