Gunpoint robbery of $5000
PA Auckland A Mangere service station owner was taken from his home at gunpoint last evening by two masked robbers who emptied his business safe of thousands of dollars in week-end takings. The robbers, armed with a sawn-off shotgun and softball bat, barged their way into the home of the garage owner, Mr Robin Young, about 8 p.m., forced him to his service station 25m away, and took more than $5OOO from the safe. Mr Young was told to open the safe and money, believed to be more than $5OOO, was taken. He was marched back to his house and tied up with his own shoe laces.
