Win for gymnasts
The New Zealand junior mens gymnasts narrowly beat Australia in the first international at Brisbane this week. The win, by 252.80 points to 252.15, won the Air New Zealand Cup — contested for the first time — for New Zealand. New Zealand No. 2 team had a comfortable win over Queensland, 245.00220.40. The New Zealanders’ performances in the second international in Canberra can be expected to improve. They competed at Brisbane on the same day as they arrived after a 12-hour delay to their aircraft.
