Prop banned
NZPA-AAP London The veteran British rugby league prop forward, Len Casey, yesterday lost his appeal against a heavy suspension and will now miss this month’s tour of New Zealand, Australia and Papua New' Guinea. A Rugby League Appeals Board dismissed Casey’s plea, but slightly reduced the ban imposed by the
disciplinary committee last week. The 34-year-old Hull Kingston Rovers forward was suspended for eight matches as a result of two dismissals.. This was to be served in addition to a six-month ban for pushing a touch judge after the second dismissal. But the Appeals Board decided to incorporate the eight matches in the sixmonth sentence. He will not be allowed to play domestically until November 1.
