Keytoe Liz back to top form
Keytoe Liz looked sharp when easily accounting for the C 5 event at the Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club’s sweepstake meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park last Sunday in the smart time of 34sec (for 560 m). After being handy throughout, Keytoe Liz strode to the lead before the home turn, and held on strongly to beat Silent Orpheus and Alvarez, the latter coming from well back. Call me Ebony was also in impressive form, showing sharp acceleration to win a C2 event in the outstanding time of 19.56 s (for 30m). Call Me Ebony had been responsible for some promising earlier efforts, but her recent form has been somewhat disappointing. However, judging on Sunday’s performance, it would appear that she is back to her best, and should
carry on. Silenti Fleur was another to impress with her all-the-way four-length win in her event from Imalona with Roaming Regent finishing belatedly for a close third. Silenti Fleur is usually a slow beginner, but was in a different role this time, after surprisingly jumping very quickly. She established a winning break down the back, and won in the handy time of 34.40 s (560 m Other winners on the programme were; Cooky’s Pride, Netherby Stride, Bionic Bess, Wadderin Maid, Billy Whizz, Lady Wakanui (560 m and Serene Cindy, Tobias, Apache Lass; The Barman, Air Commadore, Uncle Chussel, and It’s a Wadderin (330 m Cuddly Carla dearly outstayed two other rivals to win the day’s only distance event in the handy time of 50.45 s (for 805 m).
