John Dowling on Page Boy

Paddle and Manila did well to return 54 for the last 800 m of 1000 m. paddle will have a track to suit him tomorrow. Double Gem finished clear of Lord Venture after 800 m in 54.4, the last 600 m in 41.6. Double Chivas and Henley recorded 53.4 and 41.2.

Irish Note and Scorcher slowed over the closing stages of 1000 m in lmin 7.8 s after taking 25.9 for the opening 400 m. Altesse Azur and Causel sprinted 600 m in 39.9. Wild Native and Lucan’s Double ran 800 m in 53s on the sand.

Rock Crystal jumped better than Rusty Royale in a run over three fences. Rock Crystal should be hard to beat in the Otago Hunt Cup. Cointreau, a dual acceptor, will run in the Duke of Gloucester Cup, with Kevin Langford his rider. Langford has won the race twice.
