P.M. to appeal
PA Wellington The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Muldoon, will appeal against a judgment of Mr Justice Savage which set aside a jury’s verdict that a statement by Sir Robert was not defamatory by a television executive, Desmond James Monaghan. His Honour, in a judgment in the High Court at Wellington on March 9, said the jury’s verdict was perverse and unreasonable. He set it aside and ordered a new trial.
Notice of appeal has been lodged with the Court of on .behalf of Sir t. The grounds are that his Honour in his judgment and ruling was erroneous in fact and in law.
