A red deer and fawn display is set up by the zoologist at the Canterbury Museum, Mr Geoff Tunnicliffe, right, and the preparator, Mr Gary Bagot, in the vertebrate section of the Stockell Hall of the museum. Two other displays, including one of the evolution of fish and another of Hector’s dolphins, are also planned for the section, which will open soon. The deer display has taken months of research and preparation by Mr Tunnicliffe. Vegetation from the alpine heights where the deer live has been preserved, and will be included in the display.
