Liam Hallissey, aged 14, of Christchurch, performs one step of an energetic jig in a recall of the boys’ jig (over 13 years section) at the South Island Irish Societies’ Feis (coming together), at the Christchurch Irish Society Hall last evening. Beside him waits another competitor, Jason James, aged 15, of Christchurch. Hallissey won the event. More than 250 people took part in Irish cultural activities at the hall, which included Irish dancing, music, speech, and sports. The feis started on Saturday and will end today.
