Two Self Lilac guinea pigs wait to be judged by Mrs Adele Viner, background, of Hamilton, at the fourth National Cavy Show, held in the South Brighton Community Centre on Saturday. This is the first year that the show has been held in the South Island. About 485 guinea pigs were entered. The show was organised by the Christchurch Garden City Cavy Club. There were also six specialist breed club sections, which included Self Colours, Dutch, Tortie and White, Agouti, Crested, and Marked. Next year the show wifi be held in the North Island. The year's show was such a success tha the organisers hope it will return to the South Island in 1986.
