CRA plan
The Australian mining group, CRA, is planning to acquire a minority holding in the West German steelmaker. Kloeckner-Werke. of Duisburg. Kloeckner prides itself on its innovative skill, having developed radically new methods for making steel and processing coal. Industry analysts say Kloeckner views CRA’s vast raw material and energy resources as an ideal complement and sees a big advantage in CRA’s base in the fastexpanding Pacific region. A Kloeckner spokesman says that the firms are discussing a S3BM bond issue by his company that could be "swapped" for company shares.
