New High Court judge named
PA Wellington An Auckland Queen’s Counsel, Mr John Henry, has been appointed a judge of the High Court. Mr Henry, aged 51, married, with three children, graduated in law from Auckland University College in 1955 and became a partner in the firm of Wilson, Henry, Martin and Company where he remained until 1980. In that year he began practice as a barrister on
his own account. He was also appointed a Queen’s Counsel that year. Mr Henry has been a member of the council of the Auckland District Law Society for 10 years and was president between 1579 and 1980. He was vice-president of the Law Society in 1980, is a former president of the Auckland Medico-Legal Society and a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.
