Sunday play considered
PA Wellington The rugby union decided that international matches should be considered for playing on Sundays rather than on Saturdays. The meeting passed a remit from Taranaki suggesting that tour matches other than tests during May, June or July be played on Sundays so as not to disrupt club rugby. A Taranaki delegate, J. J. Stewart, said the move
would engender much good will. He added that good will was needed by the union as much as money. The chairman, Mr Blazey, said that tour arrangements were a matter of agreement between New Zealand and a touring country. New Zealand could not lay down what should happen, but he added that the principle that the council consider Sunday games was a good one.
