Community needs
Sir, — The executive of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Association of Continuing and Community Education supports the main recommendations of the Planning Council report (Meeting Needs in the Community) as summarised in “The Press,” recently. Giving local communities a real say in the direction of their social services, while maintaining financial support from the central government, is a positive step which in our opinion deserves serious consideration. Yours, etc.,
MARJORIE MANTHEI, Spokesperson (N.Z.A.C.C.E.). April 10, 1984.
