Three planes sold
NZPA-AP Suva Air Pacific has sold its two BAC 1-/11 series 475 jets to the British Ministry of Defence. John Hill, chairman of the Government airline, in making the announcement also said that one of the airline’s four Brazilian-built Bandeirante commuter planes had been sold to an unnamed Australian buyer, who had an option to buy a second.
The first BAC 1-/11 leaves for Britain this week.
Air Pacific will replace the two British-built jets with a leased Boeing 737, to go with another Boeing 737 it bought two years ago. If the two remaining Bandeirantes can be disposed of, the airline will acquire two 40-seat aircraft for use on domestic routes and short regional flights.
